In recent years, the Embracer Group, the parent company behind THQ Nordic, Gearbox Software and Saber Interactive, has already secured a variety of developer studios. Now the company announced three more acquisitions.
Open new markets and talents
Accordingly, the Demiurge Studios, Fractured Byte and Smartphone Labs were bought up. You will be subordinated in the future Saber Interactive. Demiurge Studios is an independent developer studio, which is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA and to strengthen Saber Interactives in the American market. Over the past 16 years, Demiurge had made a name for himself as a support studio and, among other things, worked on Bioshock, Mass Effect, Borderlands and several rock band content.
With Fractured Byte, a well-known studio from Estonia was bought with almost 50 employees, which had focused on independent game development and porting. Thus, one has secured another support studio for Saber Interactive, which should take the arms in future AAA developments. The Russian Studio Smartphone Labs sets the focus on software tests and developments for mobile platforms, PC, consoles and VR platforms.
