MeinMMO author Maik Schneider had already before the big multiplayer Reveal feel good beiCall of Duty: Vanguard. But after his first extended session in the multiplayer of the new World War II shooter he can release the wait even more.
Call of Duty every year brings a new full-price titles on the market and knows how to create a hype with its players; so also with me. But the two cods in recent years - Cold War and Modern Warfare - have aroused before the release little real enthusiasm in me. Too painful were other experiences that vermiesten me the release of some predecessors.
This years rote acquired CoD skepticism, I examined in recent months, the developments around the new Call of Duty: Vanguard and I must say: Away with doubts, in with the release - I do not care what there used to be.
I have already supported two major releases of CoD titles Premium For MeinMMO and I can still remember my thoughts before the last publications: About the author Maik. Modern Warfare was for me not boot Re, which, however, a few Season has long enjoyed more than one meaningful. But the Cold War was a short hype by below. Horny setting, but little content - a frustrating mixture.
Now we are heading for my third release and finally I feel again a deep desire to bring forward the release date to tomorrow. 16 6v6 maps, World War II setting, including a large campaign, Killstreaks, Combat pacing, Warzone upgrade - no idea how to persevere until 5 November.
This was alluded to: For MeinMMO I was already testing parts of the Beta and poke around just under 3 hours in the game, of which two hours of pure gameplay were. The organizers told us when we should enter the mode and so we played domination, Team Deathmatch, launch confirmed and the new mode patrol on 4 different maps in 6v6.
Also, the new Combat pacing with the Blitz was part of the test. At the latest at this point I was convinced. All the info we have the multiplayer, can be found here in the overview.
Combat pacing - I did not think I wanted to necessarily
What's Combat pacing? Vanguard performs this new match option and can adjust myself with how many players I want in my match. Overall, there are three options for this:
- Tactical: Classic CoD experience with 6v6 players
- Assault: On a map cavort between 20 - 28 players
- Flash: Between 28 and 48 players can be on a Map Gas
Why is this a reason to hype? The standard maps for the normal 6v6 matches have become increasingly larger in recent years. Between the spawn and the fighting was thus more and more time, but CoD is for me a quick shooter with constant gun battles. Start game, looking match losballern.
But by the large maps and also by adding more layers to the card (keyword verticality) a lot was lost in speed. Sometimes there were whole minutes in a Team Deathmatch, without even getting an opponent to face. So I imagine my quick skirmish in between not available.
And here is where the Combat pacing to German combat gear. It is a very simple solution to one of the biggest problems that I had in recent years with CoD. Because I can decide how many players I want to play the maps and modes that were actually designed for the classic 6v6 matches.
Even at CoD MW I was excited about each mode in the Playlist, simply brought more players into the normal matches. Now I can at any time and always decide how many opponents and team members, I would like to address a match and feels a little like Shipment or Nuketown on.
Vanguard again more like CoD MW - And Warzone
Why is Vanguard again more like CoD MW? The new Vanguard uses a revamped graphics engine CoD MW and it shows the game also. Gunplay and movement are strongly reminiscent of the CoD in 2019, partly because of the tactical sprint and the Waffen-laying are back in the game.
Why is this a reason to hype? On the one hand, because I really enjoyed the feel of CoD MW. On the other hand, because Warzone uses the same engine. And if you ask me for the best CoD in recent years, I'll answer Warzone.
I was a long time looking for the perfect Battle Royale for me and found in Warzone finally have a home. Here fits so much, though by no means all. Especially the Cheater situation pushes me on the mind and the tough content flow in the first year after release,
But in terms of gameplay, there is hardly anything to complain for me, that had to admit now mymo-author Jürgen Horn. I like the feeling of weapons that are not difficult to control and that I can take my own loadout into the match. But even the little things, such as the Respawn duel in the Gulag, as well as the cash and order system.
The fact that the new premium cod is based on this feeling feeling, brings me to smile. My first matches in Vanguard have confirmed this feel and drive my anticipation progresses.
Finally killstreaks - a little too bad about the score system
What are Streaks? Call of Duty is known for his killstreak system that rewards me when I get many kills on the piece without dying. This is driving up the pulse, leads to trouble when you go down, but also a nice dose of luckshormones, when your own heli is shaved over the area half a dozen opponents.
Why is that a reason for a hype? The current cold was putting on a scoretreak system with which I collect points instead of kills. The idea behind it was actually quite good, then players should benefit from the bonuses, otherwise no big killstreaks collect. However, the implementation caused a few tension and thus somewhere fun.
Although many kills are also important with the score system, because the more points brings and thus faster the strong support machines. But this kick is missing, if you look at his streak bar and think, Another kill, then I have it.
This slowly running stroke on the side did not pick me up; The first sliding bomb at 5 kills in the Vanguard multiplayer, however, directly.
Top bonus: Warzone announcement works down my chin load
While this does not go completely to the multiplayer of Vanguard, but in the big Reveal stream there was also information about the Warzone and as a fan of the Battle Royale went very much.
It was already clear that there is a new map with Vanguard and also the new anti-cheat system has already been announced. But when the first pictures of the new map run over the screen, I needed a brief moment to grasp what's going on. The new Pacific Map looks at bite.
Almost in a secondary set, the Associate Creative Director Amos Hodge then adopted that Warzone takes over the technology and engine of Vanguard and that all this is relatively close to the Vanguard release on the 5th of November.
The announcement to the Warzone ran only just 2 minutes, but came to me almost like a blockbuster - hopefully with Happy End to the release.
More about Vanguard:
- COD VANGUARD starts beta on the weekend - release, download, appointments
- Vanguard shows new multiplayer trailer - Reveal collects over 20,000 likes in an hour
- Mode of cod: Vanguard makes it really difficult campers - we know about Patrol
Call of Duty has delivered, at least as the announcements and my first impression are concerned. I was not so hyped for a long time from a cod and please, please let the complete game are good. I do not currently do myself - for a screeching teen this is normal, I think.
I also like to read your opinions on the subject. Did you pick up the first impressions? Do you feel something like a hype or let Vanguard cold?
